Hawaii Tokai International College (HTIC) is a fully accredited, two-year college that accepts students from all over the world. Our students learn in a multicultural environment that promotes cross-cultural understanding and awareness. HTIC offers an A.A. degree in Liberal Arts, with certificate programs in Hospitality and Tourism, Peace Studies, and a Discover East Asia study abroad program. Students who are non-native speakers of English have a chance to hone their English language skills in our College Preparatory (academic ESL) program before joining the Liberal Arts degree program. Our programs operate on a quarter system with four 10-week terms per year. Upon enrolling in the Liberal Arts Program, students can earn their associate degrees in as few as five terms (15 months). HTIC is a small college by design; Hawaii Tokai students benefit from personalized attention that is often lacking at larger schools. Our graduates transfer to four-year universities in Hawaii, the U.S. mainland, Japan and other countries. Let Hawaii Tokai International College be the gateway to your future!

Students are encouraged to collaborate with their professors on research projects giving our graduates a great advantage in employment or graduate school. Whether our students are restoring native forests, improving the health of our local community, or designing safe landing for the first manned mission to Mars, our students engage in exciting academic research opportunities that few other universities can offer. Students also take advantage of internships with local businesses and organizations, enjoy small class sizes, and travel on exchange programs that allow them to explore the world. As a public university, the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo offers a rigorous and engaging curriculum at an affordable tuition rate. The admission requirements are moderately selective, allowing above-average students the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a small school experience.
